2. Purpose of this PAIA Manual
This PAIA Manual is useful for the public to:
- Check the categories of records held by Mercury Liquors (Pty) Ltd which are available without submitting a formal PAIA request.
- Have a sufficient understanding of how to make a request for access to a record of the body.
- Know the description of records available in accordance with any other legislation.

4. Guide on How to Use PAIA, Requests and Appeals
The Information Regulator has updated and made available the revised Guide on how to use PAIA (“Guide”), in an easily comprehensible form. The Guide is available in each of the official languages and in braille.
4.1 How to Obtain the Guide

4.2 Request Procedure and Forms
The prescribed forms and fees for access to records must be used and can be downloaded from the Information Regulator’s website.
4.3 Internal Appeal Process
As Mercury Liquors (Pty) Ltd is a private body, no internal appeal is provided for in PAIA. A requester who is dissatisfied with the decision of the Information Officer may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator or approach a court of law for appropriate relief.

- Safeguards: All transfers are conducted in compliance with Chapter 9 of POPIA and appropriate contractual and technical safeguards are implemented.
